Защитный биметаллический термостат на корпусе ТЭНа (heater housing) электрической сушилки или на трубе горелки (burner tube / combustion chamber) газовой. В отличие от термопредохранителя он многоразовый: размыкается при сильном перегреве нагревателя и сам замыкается, когда остынет. При холодной машине он всегда замкнут.
Где:
• Whirlpool 29" электрическая — сзади, на корпусе ТЭНа справа (рядом стоит одноразовый thermal cut-off).
• Whirlpool Duet / фронтальные — на корпусе ТЭНа; на многих моделях объединён в один блок с входным термистором (inlet thermistor).
• Газовые (Whirlpool, GE, Maytag) — на трубе горелки или на кожухе камеры сгорания.
• GE, Samsung, LG — на кожухе ТЭНа; у LG «задний термостат» (rear thermostat) на канистре нагревателя.
A protective bimetal thermostat on the heater housing of an electric dryer or on the burner tube / combustion chamber of a gas dryer. Unlike the thermal fuse it resets: it opens when the heater badly overheats and closes again when it cools. With the machine cold it is always closed.
Where:
• Whirlpool 29" electric — at the back, on the heater housing on the right (the one-shot thermal cut-off sits next to it).
• Whirlpool Duet / front-load — on the heater housing; on many models combined in one unit with the inlet thermistor.
• Gas (Whirlpool, GE, Maytag) — on the burner tube or the combustion chamber shield.
• GE, Samsung, LG — on the heater canister; on LG it is the "rear thermostat" on the heater canister.

Мультиметр: прозвонка (continuity) или Ω на малом пределе.
Multimeter: continuity or Ω on a low range.

Прозвонка, меньше 1 Ω при комнатной температуре (типично для Whirlpool, GE, LG).
Continuity, under 1 Ω at room temperature (typical for Whirlpool, GE, LG).
- ❌ НеисправнаFaulty
OL или заметно больше 1 Ω на холодном термостате — менять.
OL or well above 1 Ω on a cold thermostat — replace.
Обесточь (газовая — перекрой газ), дай машине остыть. Сними заднюю панель (Whirlpool 29") или доберись до корпуса ТЭНа/горелки.
Unplug (gas — shut the gas), let the machine cool. Remove the back panel (Whirlpool 29") or reach the heater housing/burner.
Сними провода с двух клемм термостата. Если блок совмещён с термистором — термостат это пара больших клемм (spade), термистор — маленький разъём.
Remove the wires from the two thermostat terminals. If the unit is combined with a thermistor, the thermostat is the pair of large spade terminals, the thermistor is the small connector.

🔧 ЗаменаReplacement
Два винта и две клеммы. Ставь термостат с тем же номером: у них разные температуры срабатывания. Термостат должен плотно прилегать к металлу корпуса. На Whirlpool 29" электрической меняй в комплекте с thermal cut-off — если сработал один, второй тоже «пострадал».
Two screws and two terminals. Use the same part number: trip temperatures differ. The thermostat must sit flat against the housing. On Whirlpool 29" electric replace it as a kit with the thermal cut-off — if one tripped, the other was stressed too.

На Whirlpool 29" термостат перегрева и термовыключатель продают одним комплектом 279973 — меняют оба сразу. На LG термостаты часто идут в сборе с ТЭНом. Как и с предохранителем: сначала устранить причину перегрева (вентиляция, ТЭН касается корпуса).On Whirlpool 29" the high-limit and thermal cut-off are sold together as kit 279973 — replace both. On LG the thermostats often come with the heater assembly. As with the fuse: fix the overheating cause first (vent, element grounding to the housing).

- Если термостат исправен, но срабатывает в работе — ищи причину перегрева: вентиляция, рабочий термостат (cycling thermostat), крыльчатка вентилятора.If the thermostat tests good but trips while running, look for the overheating cause: venting, cycling thermostat, blower wheel.
- Многие новые ТЭНы приходят **без** термостата перегрева — его переставляют со старого или покупают отдельно.Many new heating elements come **without** the high-limit thermostat — move it from the old one or buy it separately.
- Проверка «при комнатной» не ловит термостат, который срабатывает раньше времени. Если подозрение остаётся — сравни температуру выхлопа с tech sheet или просто поменяй (деталь недорогая).A room-temperature test does not catch a thermostat that trips too early. If still in doubt, compare exhaust temperature to the tech sheet or just replace it (it is inexpensive).
