ТЭН (heating element, heater) — трубчатый нагреватель в нижней части наружного бака, подогревает воду в режимах Sanitize, Allergen, Hot, Steam.
Front-load: есть почти у всех LG, Samsung, Whirlpool/Maytag, Electrolux, Bosch. Вставлен в бак снизу спереди (LG, Samsung — за передней панелью) или сзади (Whirlpool Duet — за задней панелью). Держится гайкой, которая распирает резиновый уплотнитель. Часто в ТЭН встроен или рядом стоит термистор (thermistor) и термопредохранитель.
Top-load: у большинства американских top-load ТЭНа нет (греет бойлер дома). Есть у части LG и Samsung top-load (некоторые модели).
У некоторых машин есть отдельный парогенератор (steam generator) со своим нагревателем — это другая деталь.
The heating element is a tubular heater at the bottom of the outer tub that heats water for Sanitize, Allergen, Hot and Steam cycles.
Front-load: almost all LG, Samsung, Whirlpool/Maytag, Electrolux, Bosch have one. It slides into the tub at the bottom front (LG, Samsung — behind the front panel) or rear (Whirlpool Duet — behind the rear panel). A nut expands its rubber seal. A thermistor and thermal fuse are often built in or mounted next to it.
Top-load: most US top-loads have no heater (the home water heater supplies hot water). Some LG and Samsung top-loads do.
Some washers have a separate steam generator with its own heater — that is a different part.

Мультиметр: Ω (200 Ω) для спирали и прозвонка/высокий диапазон Ω для проверки на корпус.

Обесточить, дать ТЭНу остыть.
Unplug, let the element cool.
Снять нужную панель (переднюю у LG/Samsung, заднюю у Whirlpool), найти ТЭН внизу бака. Сфотографировать провода и снять их.
Remove the panel (front on LG/Samsung, rear on Whirlpool), find the heater at the bottom of the tub. Photograph and remove the wires.
Померить сопротивление между двумя силовыми клеммами ТЭНа.
Measure resistance between the two heater power terminals.
Проверка на корпус: один щуп на клемму, другой на металлический фланец/гайку ТЭНа или корпус машины.
Ground check: one probe on a terminal, the other on the heater flange/nut or the cabinet.
Если ТЭН исправен — проверить термистор (см. карточку washer-thermistor), термопредохранитель на ТЭНе (если есть, должен звониться ~0 Ω) и питание на ТЭН в сервисном тесте.
If the heater is good, check the thermistor (see washer-thermistor), the thermal fuse on the heater (if fitted, ~0 Ω) and power to the heater in the service test.
🔧 ЗаменаReplacement
- Обесточить, перекрыть воду, слить воду через фильтр (ТЭН внизу бака — иначе польётся).
- Снять панель доступа, снять провода и разъём термистора.
- Ослабить центральную гайку на несколько оборотов (не откручивать до конца), слегка утопить шпильку, чтобы освободить уплотнитель, и вытянуть ТЭН, покачивая.
- Внутри бака у ТЭНа есть держатель (bracket) — новый ТЭН вставить так, чтобы он вошёл в этот держатель.
- Затянуть гайку плотно, без фанатизма; подключить провода.
- Залить воду, проверить протечку, включить горячий цикл.
- Unplug, shut off water, drain the tub through the filter (the heater is at the bottom — water will pour out otherwise).
- Remove the access panel, remove the wires and thermistor connector.
- Loosen the center nut a few turns (do not remove), push the stud in slightly to release the seal, and wiggle the heater out.
- Inside the tub there is a bracket for the heater — make sure the new one engages it.
- Tighten the nut firmly but not excessively; reconnect the wires.
- Fill, check for leaks, run a hot cycle.

У LG ТЭН часто идёт сборкой с термистором — менять целиком. Если ТЭН закоротил на корпус, проверить и термопредохранитель/плату. На Whirlpool Duet доступ сзади — быстрее; на машинах с доступом спереди нужно снять переднюю панель.On LG the heater often comes as an assembly with the thermistor — replace as a unit. If it shorted to ground, check the thermal fuse/board too. Whirlpool Duet heaters are reached from the rear (faster); front-access units need the front panel off.
