How to Use Diagnostic Mode on a Whirlpool Touch Screen Washing Machine

Инструкция на английском (оригинал iFixit). Непонятные термины — в разделе «Основы → Словарь».

Use this guide to troubleshoot a Whirlpool washer with the newer console top, and compatible Maytag models with the same style console. You’ll learn where the hidden tech sheet is, how to enter Diagnostic Mode, how to read and clear error codes, how to run the automatic parts test, and how to run the factory calibration cycle (often called a factory reset). This diagnostic and calibration system differs from many other Whirlpool and Maytag washer models, and this style console doesn’t provide a manual parts test that can hold a single step indefinitely.

🧰 Tools

  • T20 Torx Driver
  • 1/4" Nut Driver
  • Multimeter

ШагиSteps

1

Prepare for diagnostics safely

2

Locate the hidden tech sheet

3

Put the washer into standby

4

Enter diagnostic mode

5

Troubleshoot when diagnostic mode won’t start

6

Understand key numbers and active error codes

7

Run the UI test mode

8

Start the automatic parts test mode

9

Control and exit the automatic test mode

10

Check the software version

11

Enter the error code display

12

Decode Whirlpool and Maytag error codes

13

Scroll through and clear stored error codes

14

Run the factory calibration cycle

Use the tech sheet together with the error-code and automatic-test results so you can narrow the fault before replacing parts or controls. If the washer will not enter diagnostics or calibration reliably, verify basic power and console behavior before going deeper into component diagnosis. Repair didn't go as planned?
