This guide describes how to clean the pump sump on the Siemens Siwatherm 7400 Series IQ. It shows how to access it via the back cover and perform a subsequent flushing process.

Step 1
- Remove the gray cover on the bottom right of the back. It is only held in place by clips and does not need to be unscrewed.
- Carefully unplug the two connectors from the pump.
- The pump mounting unit is also only held in place by clips and can be easily removed.
- Clean the pump sump. To do this, tilt the machine backward and pour out the water and lint. If this is not possible because the machine is located in a living area, clean it with a sponge.
- Reassemble the pump.
- Remove the drawer at the top. Pour half a liter of water through the hole located under the drawer using a watering can.
- Reinsert the drawer, select a short program, and start the dryer.
- When the program has finished, remove the water from the drawer and clean it. Repeat the rinsing process (watering can) several times.
